The website is an effort by Douglas Johns, MSW who has mentored and counseled teens in many capacities since 1988. Doug is committed to this directory growing into a reliable web-based resource for teens, parents, and professionals searching for skillful and compassionate counselors in their hometown. The Directory of Counseling For Teenagers originated from a need of families to more easily find experienced and qualified counselors who enjoy assisting teens. As a therapist with over twenty years experience helping teenagers, I’ve heard many stories from parents on just how difficult it is to find counselors who will work with teens. This directory is not only an attempt to make that search easier, it is also a forum for counselors to publish articles that highlight their clinical skills while simultaneously providing a valuable service to the public.
